Recovering from surgery!
Stumpy's infection on her neck required surgery. She made it through surgery successfully and had two drain tubes installed in her neck along with numerous stitches. The tubes and stitches have now been removed, and she is well on her way to recovery! She is feeling much better and is ready to play! We are still searching for a permanent home for her. Please feel free to pass her information on to anyone who can provide a good home for her.

Stumpy has been to the vet for vaccinations & routine health care and now I am getting her comfortable in her new foster home. I need to find a permanent home for her! She has a very sweet & loving personality. She is housebroken, knows basic commands, and is spayed. She LOVES to play and will even throw toys up in the air & catch them by herself! She walks well on the leash too!
If you can provide a loving home for Stumpy please contact us. Feel free to share this post with anyone who can help. Thank you!
Welcome to Stumpy's blog!
Stumpy is a 2-3 yr old pit bull mix who was found living in a hollowed-out stump in an alleyway in Hyattsville, MD. She had no roof over her head and was stuck in the freezing rain, living on whatever trash she could steal from neighborhood trash cans. She had several injuries, possibly from being attacked by other dogs, and a severe infection in her jaw area.
I rescued her and drove away just minutes before animal control arrived. Due to local legislation, P.G. County animal control has instructions to immediately euthanize any pit bulls or pit mixes they have in possession. Great timing! This is where she was living.
